Cyborg Con Project
Project Details:
- This is an inquiry-based project, so your topic will be a research question you want to explore.
- Your topic must relate to one of the following genres: Science Fiction, Fringe Science, Fantasy, Paranormal
- Examples of research questions-
- Could humans evolve the trait of invisibility?
- Could you genetically engineer a werewolf?
- Could a real virus mutate and cause a zombie apocalypse?
- Could cyborgs be created for military use?
- You may work in groups of up to 3. At least one member in your group must be in Quevedo’s class.
Project Requirements;
- Written Components:
- Cultural History Report: Discuss the history of your topic and its presence in books, movies, tv and other cultural media. How has it been portrayed?
- Scientific Research Report: Tie your topic to REAL happenings in science. Explain what’s happening scientifically. Discuss what scientific theories are out there concerning your topic. What do scientists believe?
- Conclusion: Answer your research question. Are there any ethical concerns to consider? What are you predictions for the future?
- Convention Components:
- Present: Your research will be presented at CYBORG Con for the school to enjoy
- Visualize: You will present your research visually (boards, videos, media)
- Explain: Experts (you!) will be grouped by similar topic and speak as part of a panel discussion at CYBORG Con
